Dr. Linda Weil
Dr. Weil, a native of the Chicago land area received her BA degree from Drake University in Des Moines, IA. Following her graduation, she worked as a patient service coordinator and camp director for the Muscular Dystrophy Association of Du Page County. With the encouragement of many physicians Linda entered optometry school and graduated from the Illinois College of Optometry in 1986. She then completed a 3 month internship and 1 year residency in pediatrics and binocular vision at the State University of New York and the Eye Institute in Philadelphia, PA. Following her post graduate studies she joined the faculty at the University of Houston, College of Optometry as an assistant professor where she lectured on the treatment of lazy eyes and other childhood conditions.
In 1989 she returned to Chicago where Linda has been practicing in the Western suburbs for over 20 years. Most recently, she completed another post-graduate course in the area of Behavior Optometry and visual-cognitive therapy which emphasizes integrating vision with the other senses of the body to help children perform to their highest abilities.
Dr. Weil lives in Chicago with her husband Steve Silk and son Gabriel. Linda’s interest include: cooking, entertaining with friends, traveling, hiking and taking care of her family.
