Dr. Amber Cumings specializes in Neuro-Optometric and Pediatric Care at Clarendon Vision, treating patients of all ages. She is highly regarded by our patients who have complex visual needs, regularly noting that Dr. Cumings identified the right diagnosis and treatment that has provided the often long-awaited relief they needed.

Dr. Cumings was born in Michigan and graduated Summa Cum Laude from Ferris State University with a degree in Vision Science. She went on to earn her Doctorate of Optometry degree with Highest Distinction at Michigan College of Optometry. During her time there, Dr. Cumings was the leader of several councils and a member of academic professional organizations. She completed a residency specializing in Pediatrics/Vision Therapy/Neuro-Optometric Rehabilitation with national thought leader Dr. Curtis Baxstrom.

Today, she is working on her Fellowship in The College of Vision Development (FCOVD), which certifies optometrists as having advanced competency in providing developmental vision and vision therapy services. You may also see her research articles published across pediatric/optometric medical journals.

Dr. Cumings is a member of the American Optometric Association, the American Academy of Optometry, the Neuro-Optometric Rehabilitation Association, and the College of Optometrists in Vision Development.

She lives in the western suburbs with her fiancé and enjoys hiking, kayaking, reading, and drawing.
